We Maraud Your Ears.

Midnight Marauders > Low End Theory. This story gives me more of a “winning” feeling (for a lack of a better term) as opposed to being actual news. I’m not saying that the Tribe’s Low End Theory is rubbish…oh God no! I would just like to give mad props to Michael Rapaport for publically announcing an assumption that I had adopted many years ago. Before any one begins “Buggin’ Out,” both albums are full of several “Vibes and Stuff” and surely, “We Can Get Down” to almost every joint on each tape but you all better get up and “Clap Your Hands” because “Oh My God,” Midnight Marauders is the shit!

“Quiet On Tha Set!” John Singleton. If you don’t recognize this name, you have been hiding in the dark somewhere, or you are new to the genre which we here at Pound both love and have helped cultivate. Singleton was the director of one of hip-hop’s most groundbreaking films, Boyz N The Hood. Just as he did back in ’91, Singleton may very well team up with everyone’s favourite Doughboy (Ice Cube) again, this time in an Ice Cube produced film entitled “Straight Outta Compton,” and yes it is exactly what you think it is: a biography of N.W.A. Singleton says that the script is done and all that is required is to find a distributor to carry the flick. Fingers crossed, and glocks cocked! **Please refrain from doing the latter of the two. We here at Pound condone any sort of weapon-related violence. Although we do give props to a good ass stomp every so often…oh and eye gauges of course.**
Cole World on Tuesday. Here is a video of J. Cole performing “Mr. Nice Watch” off his debut album, Cole World: The Sideline Story which is finally set to drop this Tuesday, the 27th. The heavily anticipated album will have features from Drake, Missy Elliott and Cole’s employer, Mr. Sean Carter. After the long wait, has anyone else released their sigh of relief just yet? Or are we holding it for Detox? Because if that’s the case, it was nice not knowing you fellow reader.
...oh and f*ck you Larry Merchant! #MoneyTeam
