Jon Connor leads the resistance! In the fight against CRAP (Cruddy Rap), a new face has spawned from one of the roughest cities in the United States. Flint, Michigan is his residence and with a name like Jon Connor, you’re bound for a rugged yet glorious victory over Skynet…err or the lousy mainstream rap game. You may recognize him for his mixtapes, Season 1, and Salvation, or maybe even his feature in XXL Magazine. Connor writes, rhymes and produces his own tracks, along with his Blue City Club clique. He’s got a genuine flow with a raw lyrical approach that you as a fan of the genre, know is hard to come by. Check out his videos for “Fli69” and his “Don’t Fall in Love with a Bitch,” remix featuring MMG’s Pill (above). Matter of fact, while we’re at it, go check out “Hustlin’ is Always a Option” (his “Hustle Hard” freestyle) and one of his newer releases, “No Thrillz.” If you aren’t sold on Connor after that, then you’ve got issues homey. Also, don’t forget to download his new mixtape, Season 2 on Dec. 12th. Fli City Stand up! Salvation is near, with Jon Connor leading the resistance!
Expensive, Nasty Art. During a performance in Miami, Queensbridge’s lyrical mastermind, Nas sold an original painting of his own for $14,000! While on stage performing “Made You Look,” Esco picked up a brush and began painting a dude smoking a joint on a canvas, which was sold for charitable purposes. What I wanna know is…other than the BOSS, in Ricky, who else brings 14K to a rap concert!? God knows I’m not even wearing my good kicks just in case some drunk chick spills her drink on them.

Behind the Throne. In case you weren’t able to attend, or if the tour has yet to arrive in your city, Voyr.com has released a behind the scenes look at the WTT Tour. For those readers in cities where the tour has yet to reach, I’ll cease to reveal any details!

The Tribe still hasn’t been paid for “Can I Kick It?” While performing in London, the five-foot assassin revealed that the group has still yet to receive any royalties for one of their biggest hits. According to Phife, the group used a sample from legendary rocker, Lou Reed's, “Walk on the Wild Side” on “Can I Kick It?” Reed allowed clearance for the sample and has apparently received every ounce of royalties from it! “So Lou Reed could have easily said, ‘Oh yeah, a rap group use my shit? Alright.’ No. Anita Baker don’t let nobody use her shit, period.,” Phife said. “So Lou Reed, instead of saying no altogether, he was like, ‘Yeah, nice! Give me the motherf-cking money.’ Like Smokey in Friday.”
